    Description

    Famous for the Jagannath Temple, one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites, Puri is a significant religious destination for Hindus. The annual Rath Yatra (Chariot Festival) attracts millions of devotees from around the world. Besides the temple, Puri offers pristine beaches where you can relax and enjoy water sports.

    Home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Sun Temple, Konark is a treasure trove of architectural brilliance. The Sun Temple, also known as the Black Pagoda, is renowned for its intricate carvings depicting various aspects of life. The Chandrabhaga Beach near Konark is an ideal spot to witness mesmerizing sunrises and sunsets.

    Asia's largest brackish water lagoon, Chilika Lake is a haven for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts. It is home to a vast variety of migratory birds, including flamingos, herons, and pelicans. You can also take boat rides to explore the lake and visit the Kalijai Temple situated on an island in the lake.

    Known as the artisan village of Odisha, Raghurajpur is famous for its Pattachitra paintings, an ancient form of cloth-based scroll painting. You can visit the village to witness artists creating intricate paintings and buy authentic artwork as souvenirs.

    Itinerary Plan

    • Day 1 : Bhubaneswar

      Arrive at Bhubaneswar, the capital and largest city of Odisha, also known as the “Temple City” for its 700 temples.

    • Day 2 : Bhubaneswar - Konark - Puri

      Drive to Konark, about 65 km from Bhubaneswar, to visit the Konark Sun Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the seven wonders of India.

    • Day 3 : Puri - Chilika Lake - Puri

      Take a day trip to Chilika Lake, about 50 km from Puri, the largest brackish water lagoon in Asia and a Ramsar site of international importance.

    • Day 4 : Puri - Bhitarkanika National Park

      Drive to Bhitarkanika National Park, about 200 km from Puri, one of the largest mangrove ecosystems in India and a wildlife sanctuary.

    • Day 5 : Bhitarkanika National Park - Balasore

      Drive to Balasore, about 150 km from Bhitarkanika National Park, a city famous for its beaches, temples, and handicrafts.

    • Day 6 : Balasore - Cuttack

      Drive to Cuttack, about 200 km from Balasore, the former capital and second largest city of Odisha. The city is known for its silver filigree work, horn and brass work, and textile industry.
